From the Chancellor

Our university community has been tested this year by an unprecedented combination of challenges: a global pandemic whose toll is still rising; the struggle to reform systems of oppression; and economic inequities that put crucial opportunities out of reach for many.

Despite these difficulties, the Wolfpack community has rallied together to adapt to a rapidly changing world — and to help bring about a brighter future.

On this site, you’ll learn about some of this transformational work. You’ll meet faculty, staff and students leading our response to the COVID-19 pandemic, whether by producing innovative filtration material or keeping our campus food pantry fully stocked and safely staffed. You’ll see how courageous Black students inspired and led initiatives to make NC State a more diverse, equitable and inclusive university. And you’ll see how record-breaking donations are fueling efforts to improve educational opportunity, serve underrepresented populations and provide emergency assistance to students at a time of overwhelming uncertainty.

The Wolfpack community has rallied together to adapt to a rapidly changing world — and to help bring about a brighter future.”

You’ll also learn how NC State’s researchers continue to forge ahead in their quest to solve real-world problems for the benefit of all. We’re leading a collaboration with partners in government and industry to integrate 5G technology with autonomous drones. And as part of the IBM Q Network, we’re driving breakthroughs in quantum computing.

At NC State, our motto is “Think and Do.” Today, living up to those words has never been so important — or carried with it so much promise.
