The WordPress Dashboard allows site administrators to manage, update, and create their website’s content. The exact options available within the Dashboard will vary site-to-site, but common functions include editing website pages, creating news posts, and updating menu items.

The Dashboard will sometimes be referred to as the “back-end” of your website. This is because public users of your site will not interact with the Dashboard — it is only for users who have been granted permission to edit all or specific portions of your site.

The main Dashboard menu is listed along the left-hand side. The items listed in the menu will vary site-to-site, but additional documentation about specific menu items and functionality is provided throughout this documentation.
