Much of our success stems from the work of our world-leading faculty. The Chancellor’s Faculty Excellence Program groups faculty members in 20 interdisciplinary clusters that tackle the grand challenges facing society. As a result, we’ve seen more partnerships with the public and private sectors, consistent funding for groundbreaking research and increased commitments from private donors. In fact, NC State received $224.8 million in gifts and new commitments in the 2017 fiscal year — the highest total in university history, and a 39 percent increase over the previous year.
