Dear Enrollment Management and Services colleagues –
I’m writing to provide you with an update on the search for the senior vice provost for Enrollment Management and Services. Provost Arden and I want to be transparent and keep you informed throughout this search process.
The position was posted in December with advertisements later placed with the Chronicle of Higher Education, Diverse: Issues in Higher Education, the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers and the Southern Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers. The nomination committee met on January 22 for a mid-search review to ensure that we’re receiving the caliber of candidates we expect.
We are looking for a creative, innovative, student success-focused thought leader committed to the recruitment, enrollment and retention of a high-caliber, diverse student population through graduation. We also seek to attract and review a diverse candidate pool. The committee received training on conducting an equitable and inclusive hiring process and has been tasked with reaching out to colleagues for input on diverse candidates. I encourage you to share the job prospectus and send recommendations to the committee members on potential ideal candidates for recruitment.
The committee will meet on February 23 to identify a small handful of candidates for first-round interviews which will take place in mid-March. The committee will then make a recommendation to the provost to select two to four candidates for finalist interviews to tentatively be conducted in April. Open forums for each candidate will be held during this time.
The provost and I value your input on this search. We will post this and other updates on the search website, which can be found here or at go.ncsu.edu/emas-search.
