The afternoon of January 17, Poole College hosted the Wells Fargo Executive Leadership series featuring a conversation with DeLisa Alexander, Executive Vice President and Chief People Office at Red Hat, and Frank Buckless, interim dean of the Poole College of Management. Alexander discussed topics ranging from open leadership to women in technology in a packed Nelson Hall Auditorium.

When Wells Fargo’s internal innovation group came up with a new client services concept, they turned to the NC State Entrepreneurship Clinic, and specifically a Jenkins MBA student team, for help validating their idea.

Thought Leadership: Gap Between Earnings and Non-Financial Measures Affects Forecasting
 
A recent study by Jenkins Distinguished Professor of Accounting Joe Brazel finds that the more a company’s earnings diverge from its non-financial resources, the less likely it is to issue a forecast of its annual earnings. For companies that issue a forecast, the larger the disconnect between a company’s earnings and its key non-financial measures, the more the company overestimates its actual performance.
