2020 CCEE Hall of Fame inductees are true source of inspiration and pride
This year’s nine inductees come from diverse fields, and have risen to the absolute top leadership positions in their chosen arenas which include academia, the military, and several practice areas of engineering. The accomplishments of this group, which includes the “Father” of our department, are impressive and a source of pride.

CCEE researchers develop hydrology data tool
Dr. Sankar Arumugam and PhD student Chandramauli Awasthi, in collaboration with researchers from Cornell University developed a tool that draws from multiple databases to give water resource managers and infrastructure users the information they need to make informed decisions about water use on river networks.

Ambitious energy modeling project hopes to inform climate policy
Dr. Joseph DeCarolis is the co-founder of the international Open Energy Network. The Network provides policymakers with the information they need to formulate energy policy to reduce carbon emissions.

4 PhD students accepted into prestigious Rising Stars program
“It is rewarding to see our female doctoral students being selected by competitive programs that recognize potential talent for success in academic careers,” said Dr. Ranji Ranjithan, Director of Graduate Program for CCEE. This was in response to 4 of our students being chosen to participate in the CE Rising Stars program being conducted this year by Carnegie Melon University.

Video highlights persistence of this Fall's graduates
Because an in-person graduation was not possible, we created a video to honor our students who completed their degrees between May and December of 2020. The 30-minute program includes photographs of students, a message from our Valedictorian, and short congratulatory videos from many of our faculty. See and hear from this class who finished their degrees in spite of overwhelming challenges.

The end of an era
Moving trucks sit outside Mann Hall as movers fill them with the contents of offices, labs, and classrooms. After December 11th, the department will have officially left Mann Hall, and begin operating from Fitts-Woolard Hall. It's exciting, and challenging, and poignant.
