CALS Academic and Administrative Technology has purchased limited EndNote 8 licenses for permanent CALS faculty and staff to download and install! EndNote is the industry standard software tool for publishing and managing bibliographies, citations and references on the Windows and Macintosh desktop.

New Campus-wide Licensing for MatLab and Simulink!
North Carolina State University is excited to announce a NEW campus-wide license for MATLAB, Simulink, and companion products. The new license permits ALL faculty, academic researchers, and students to download and install these products on their university computers as well as their personally-owned computers.

Fall 2018 Classroom Capture Mediasite Opt-In Portal - NOW OPEN!
With classroom capture you can automatically capture the presenter and classroom video, audio and content from peripheral devices (laptop, PC, document camera, etc.). Recordings require virtually no pre- or post-production work and are ready for viewing almost immediately after the recording is over.

Microsoft will End Support of Windows 7 in January 2020
Extended support for Windows 7 will end January 14, 2020 requiring Windows 7 machines to be removed from the network. Those departments supported by CAAT will be notified of steps to take to upgrade computers. Departments not supported by CAAT should contact their IT support for paths to upgrade.

New EndPoint Security Policy
On May 1, 2018, the Vice Chancellor for Information Technology issued the new Endpoint Security Standard. This standard applies to every user of NC State’s network, which includes users of University-owned and personally owned resources and devices. All controls must be in place by June 30, 2019.
