What Does the Recent Executive Order on Free Speech Mean?
On March 21, 2019, President Trump signed an executive order stating in part that the policy of the federal government is to “encourage institutions to foster environments that promote open, intellectual engaging, and diverse debate, including through compliance with the First Amendment for public institutions and compliance with stated institutional policies regarding the freedom of speech for private institutions."
