Join the Office for Institutional Equity and Diversity and the Division of Academic and Student Affairs for NC State’s 2018 Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration. The theme of this year’s celebration is “The Power of Voice.”
Highlights of the three-day campus celebration include renowned activist, civil rights leader and community organizer Benjamin Jealous, who will speak on “The Forgotten Origins and Consequences of Race in America” on January 16, 2018 from 3:00-5:00 p.m., Stewart Theatre and writer, spoken word artist, slam poetry champion and social justice activist Darius Simpson, who will conduct a writing workshop for students and performance for the campus on January 17, 2018.
Several other events will round out the celebration.
