As promised, here are this week’s updates, reminders, and upcoming important dates for new students. Today we also wanted to let you know that NC State offices will close for winter break at 5:00pm this Wednesday, Dec. 23 and will reopen on Jan. 4, 2021. With that in mind, reach out now if you have lingering questions about the New Student Checklist and need assistance before January!

Updates and Reminders

• Return-to-Campus COVID-19 Testing: Following winter break NC State will require proof of a negative COVID‑19 PCR test for students living on campus or within a 1-mile radius of campus. Get the details on the Protect the Pack website.
• Textbooks and Course Materials: After registering for classes, get your book list and look at purchase and rental options through our bookstore, Wolfpack Outfitters.
• Start PACKing: Review the Suggested Packing List from University Housing if you are living on campus in the spring.
• Parking Permits: Explore options to purchase a parking permit through Transportation, or review alternatives like the Wolfline bus

• Dec. 24 – Jan. 3: NC State closed for winter break
• Jan. 6: Online Orientation Platform (Part 1) due date
• Jan. 8: Online Orientation Session (Part 2) – Live on Zoom from 9am-4pm (registration closes Jan. 1!)
• Jan. 8: Deadline to submit fall transcripts
• Jan. 16-18: University Housing Move-In (sign up for a move-in appointment time)
• Jan. 16-23: Winter Welcome Week
• Jan. 19: Required Online Education Modules due date
• Jan. 19: First Day of Class!
