Updates from New Student Programs

Dear {FIRST NAME},

We hope this email finds you doing well, and congratulations on your decision to attend NC State!

We know this is an exciting time as you get ready to join the Wolfpack. NC State is anticipating returning to normal operations for the fall semester, and we are encouraged by the current trends of COVID-19 infections throughout our city and state. However, some event restrictions will still be in place this summer that impact our ability to host large gatherings.

NC State has decided to move forward with a hybrid format for New Student and Family Orientation for summer 2021. By offering both virtual and on-campus opportunities for new students and families, we hope to provide you with information and experiences that prepare you for the fall semester while keeping everyone in the Wolfpack community safe.

Students are required to complete the following virtual orientation activities:

Students have the option to attend an additional on-campus program:

  • Campus Visit – Attend a half-day supplemental experience on the NC State campus to be held in July (dates and registration information available in mid-May)

Learn more on the Orientation website

Family members are invited to participate in Family Orientation programming, which includes an online module, virtual session on Zoom, and campus visit (limited to one family member).

When registration for the sessions opens, we will send an invitation to the email address you have on file with Undergraduate Admissions, which you can update in your wolfPAW account at any time.

These are unique times, and we acknowledge this may not be how you envisioned the summer before your first year on campus. However, NC State and New Student Programs are committed to you, your transition to campus, and your success in your first year and beyond.

We remain open to serve you and your family during this time, so as questions arise, we encourage you to share them with us at new-students@ncsu.edu or 919.515.1234. Additionally, you may also find helpful information and updates from New Student Programs on our website, Twitter and Instagram.

Thank you for your patience and understanding, and we look forward to welcoming you to NC State.

Sincerely,

New Student Programs
