Robert Scheller: Adapting our state's forests for the future

The natural landscapes we’ve become accustomed to in North Carolina and around the world might look radically different from the landscapes that will surround us in the future.

That’s because the world is in a constant state of flux. From insects and pathogens, to wildfires, to land-use changes and, of course, climate change — all these factors and many others will determine what North Carolina’s forests look like going forward.

Agents of Change Cohort

The Agents of Change program trains early career scientists from systematically marginalized backgrounds in science communication and public engagement, and provides channels for broad dissemination of their stories, and research contributions through public-facing, multimedia platforms. Starting June 1, the program will be administered through the Environmental Health Sciences department at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. This is a remote fellowship. Agents of Change has now trained more than 30 fellows who are advancing environmental and climate justice through expertise in environmental public health, sociology, medicine, earth sciences, engineering, and urban planning. Agents of Change is making an impact and fellows are gaining visibility as emerging environmental justice leaders. It's really an incredible group. Blood Drive at The Brickyard

The NC State Staff Senate in conjunction with The Blood Connection is sponsoring a campus wide blood drive on April 26, 2022 from 12 pm until 6pm at the Brickyard. Donations of all blood types are needed and will stay in the NC State and Raleigh Communities.
