Creating the Issue’s Cover Page

You can manually select what posts are displayed on an issue's cover page. These stories can be ordered in anyway you like, and you can also provide a custom teaser and CTA.

The cover page of an issue (see schematic) can be broken into three sections:

  1. The cover story
  2. The table of contents
  3. Additional modules and information

(1) Cover Story

The cover of your magazine begins with the title of your publication and a description. This is on top of a blurred background image from the cover story of the current issue. The title of the publication and its description are not expected to change from issue to issue.

Scrolling down will bring the background image into focus and display the current issue's cover story. This is known as the cover story slide, and it will list the cover story's title, teaser, and a call to action. The call to action on this page usually links to a magazine post, but it can also lightbox a YouTube video if desired.

(2) Table of Contents

This section of the issue's cover page acts as a table of contents that lists all stories within the issue. The order of stories in this section of the cover page is manually decided upon. By default, the teaser that is displayed will be the post's excerpt and the call to action will read "Read More." However, the teaser and call to action can be overridden on a story-by-story basis.

The cover page also gives you the option to choose how many stories are in each of the rows.

(3) Additional Modules and Information

The bottom section of the cover page allows you to display modules from the NC State theme. With these modules you could display recent social media content, timely news stories from across campus, upcoming events of interest to your audience, and more.
