Timaca Forest
Located in Person County about 60 miles northwest of NC State’s campus, the 100-acre Timaca Forest is located adjacent to the George Watts Hill Forest in nearby Durham County.
There is currently no research ongoing in this upland forest, in which all upland trees were harvested and replanted with loblolly pine, except for the mature hardwood trees located in a tract next to the Tar River headwaters.
The forest is not open to the public and there are no onside facilities. The forest is leased for hunting.
